What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is the ancient system of medicine and preventive health care. The term Ayurveda is derived from two Sanskrit words – 'Ayu' means 'Life' and 'Veda' means 'Knowledge'. In ancient India there were two famous Ayurvedic scholars. Charaka and Sushruta. They believed that the human body comprised of four essential elements – mind, body, sense and soul. The combination or a disturbance in either or them or in the way they worked together led to good health or bad.
Ayurveda also believes that nothing can exist in isolation. Everything including diet, lifestyle, work, relationships as an effect on health and well being. Ayurveda believes that mind and the body is interrelated and so, the mind has a profound influence on the body. Good health is a dynamic state of balance and integration of body, mind, and spirit.
Ayurveda has been practiced for centuries, and though it falls under alternative medicine, but Ayurveda has been hugely successful. It has cured many remedies.
Can Ayurveda cure Genital Warts?
Yes Ayurveda has been known to be successful with genital warts. Ayurveda approaches the issue in a different manner than the way conventional medicine work. Ayurveda tries to reach the core of the issue and resolve the reason why the warts are appearing. And if the symptoms can be cured, then the warts will never appear again. Conventional medicines on the other hand just attempt to remove the warts from the outside and make the wounds heal quickly. But removing the Human Papilloma Virus or the HPV that causes them to appear remain a far cry. Ayurveda also strengthens the immune system to make it more difficult for the warts. Neem based creams developed on Ayurvedic principles have also been effective against the virus. Such creams when applied on the genitals also enable sexual activities during warts and prevent the transmission of the disease.Ayurvedic Herbs and Ayurvedic Treatments
Food and diet is important in Ayurveda and thus, this natural system of remedy uses many herbs and plants, oils, common spices, and other naturally occurring substances for treatments. Actually, in excess of 5,000 such products are used for various diseases and they have been categorized as per their effects. The name of these and the effects they have on the human body and mind has also been document for the future and has also been published.Gunas and Doshas in Ayurveda
There are three Gunas in Ayurveda. Gunas are fundamental attributes that represent all natural processes through which the subtle becomes the gross. The three gunas are...
Sattva meaning Essence, Rajas meaning Activity and Tamas meaning Inertia. According to Ayurvedic principles, medicines and foods are either sattvic, rajasic or tamasic or a combination of these three gunas. Cooking based on the theories of this ancient system can control and regulate body functioning through these three gunas.
Dosha is what causes the ailments. There are three doshas in Ayurveda as well.
Vata Dosha: This is the most powerful dosha that has the potential to cause a lot of harm, the Vata dosha is the combination of space and air. When the balance is disturbed, cell functioning, heart, breathing and the mind is disturbed.
Pitta Dosha: Fire and water constitute the Pitta dosha. It controls hormones and the digestive system. Imbalance leads to heart disease and arthritis.
Kapha Dosha: It balances strength and immunity and controls growth. When this is not functioning properly, it leads to diabetes, gallbladder problems, stomach ulcers, and asthma.
Conclusion:
Modern medicine is beginning to believe that there might be something in Ayurveda that made it so powerful and popular and so a lot of research is being done on it. But there are many who still seek Ayurveda to cure conditions such as genital warts and others.
